Past Workshops

Yoga workshops with Daniel

Join Daniel for a special yoga series that will change the way you move and feel. Each 1 1/2 hour workshop is designed to loosen up targeted areas, release tension and increase Qi flow and blood circulation.

Hip Openers  Sunday 10/15/23 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Twenty-two muscles and four main bones (ilium, pubis, ischium, femoral head) are involved in your hip movement. Your hips are not only the place where your legs pivot from, they are the base that cradles your upper body. Practice different yogas to loosen them up, release tension, increase qi flow and blood circulation to increase their health.

Shoulder Openers  Sunday 11/12/23 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Forty-four muscles and three main bones (scapula, clavicle, humerus) are involved in your shoulder movement. Situated by your heart (sentiment) and below your brain (intellect), your shoulders sometimes take on a lot of ‘thoughts and feelings’. Practice different yogas to loosen them up, release tension, increase qi flow and blood circulation to increase their health.

Low Back Relief  Sunday 12/10/23 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Three main muscle groups (extensors, flexors, obliques) and several bones (lumbar vertebra, sacrum, coccyx) are involved in your low back movement. They manage stability for your trunk, and protection for your spinal cord and nerves. Practice different yogas to strengthen weak areas, loosen
tight ones, release tension, increase qi flow and blood circulation and increase health.
Workshop sessions are $35 each

Couch to 5K with Tina – 9/23

YOUR GOAL

Jingle All the Way 5K

Washington, DC December 10, 2023

If you have always wanted to run a 5K but thought you never could OR you used to run but haven’t in years this is the perfect program for you.  Probably the biggest challenge a new runner faces is not knowing how or where to start.  Often when trying to get into exercise, we can overdo it, feel defeated and give up when we’re just getting started.  Couch to 5K works because it starts with a mix of running and walking to gradually build up your fitness and stamina, creating realistic expectations and making the challenge feel achievable right from the start.

Who is Couch to 5K for?

Couch to 5K is for everyone. Whether you’ve never run before or you just want to get more active, Couch to 5K is an easy and motivating way of getting fitter and healthier.

*If you have any health concerns about beginning an exercise regime like Couch to 5K, make an appointment to see a GP and discuss it with them first.

What are the benefits?

There are plenty of benefits from getting into running. For starters, it’s an easy way of improving your physical health.  Running requires little equipment, but a good pair of running shoes that suit your foot type may help improve comfort.  Running regularly will improve the health of your heart and lungs. It can also help you lose weight, especially if combined with a healthy diet.  There’s evidence it may help increase bone density in some people, which can help protect against bone diseases like osteoporosis.  There are also mental benefits of running. Taking on the challenge of Couch to 5K can help boost your confidence and self-belief, as you prove to yourself that you can set yourself a target and achieve a goal.  Running regularly can also be a great stress reliever and has even been shown to combat depression.

Program begins Saturday September 23rd.

Meets Saturdays 7:30am and Tuesdays 7:00 pm
Cost $150 total – limited to 15 participants
