How are the coaching sessions held?

Sessions can be conducted in person at RCSC, over the phone, or by Skype/Facetime, whichever is the most convenient for you.

Do I have to commit to a certain number of sessions?

RCSC offers a complimentary 20-minute coaching session, call a Discovery session, to all interested. If you decide after the complimentary session you are ready to dig deeper, you can choose among several packages and schedule the sessions with your coach.

What is a typical coaching session like?

The initial, or Discovery, session is a time you will use to get to know your coach and determine whether you are comfortable with the coaching relationship. You will review forms, discuss what you would like to get out of the coaching sessions and ask any questions you may have.

During each subsequent session, you and your coach will discuss your agenda, as your coach listens intently and asks insightful questions. You will be given tools to help you with any obstacles to your moving forward, and assigned homework to give you more insight, including setting goals and designing a wellness plan.  At the beginning of the next session, you will be asked about your week, your homework will be reviewed and your successes will be celebrated. We will also explore any obstacles you encountered during the week. We can determine then whether we need to adjust your goals and set new ones.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

The coaching relationship is a partnership between the coach and you. In coaching, the sessions are directed by you and you are viewed as an expert in your life. In therapy, the therapist is viewed as the expert and may give advice. In coaching, the coach does not give psychological diagnosis and advice, and the sessions are focused mainly on finding your motivation to make lasting lifestyle behavioral changes to benefit you now and in the future.

How much does coaching cost?

A single session is $90. However, to ensure seeing positive changes, meeting consistently with a coach is recommended. You may purchase 8 sessions for $680, or 12 sessions for $960. Another option, to help ensure consistency and to receive the best per-session cost, is to sign on for monthly billing of 4 sessions a month.  At $316 a month, this brings the session cost to $79.
