Daniel Hickman

    Daniel Hickman is 500-hr RYT yoga instructor and NASM trained personal trainer at Rock Creek Sports Club.  Outside of the club, Daniel also leads meditation and adaptive yoga for patients in the Military Advanced Training Center and Adaptive Recreation Center, at The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

    Daniel’s expertise in yoga and meditation led to partnerships with Howard University Cancer Center/Hospital implementing a restorative yoga intervention for breast cancer survivors and with the Defense and Veterans Center for Integrative Pain Management guiding patients in rehabilitative yoga to address low back pain.  Additionally, he authored six instructional yoga videos including Yoga BeginningsVets Yoga.

    In his past life, Daniel was a traditional rock climber for 26 years, until he got dropped down the side of a mountain, fell 4 stories and had to hike out. Prior to that, he was an artist educator and facilitated multicultural, interactive theatrical presentations for audiences of children with: The Smithsonian Institution’s Discovery Theater, The Barns of Wolf Trap and The Kennedy Center.
