Member of the Quarter – Santosh Kaushal
Santosh Kaushal has been a member of RCSC since 2011, where she came upon the gym while helping her son find a house in the neighborhood. All the way from Indianapolis, Santosh just so happened to visit during one of the gym’s Open House events. She saw Sharon outside greeting prospective members, decided to introduce herself, and was soon taking a tour of the facility with Hadji. She immediately fell so in love with the place that she convinced her son to buy the closest house in the area so she could walk to and from the gym every day!
Having participated in several marathons, hiked all around the world, and visited all 7 continents, Santosh was a very active woman to begin with. “My main reason behind joining the gym was to STAY active, not to BECOME active,” she states, “I wanted to keep taking care of myself and I loved the friendly atmosphere.”
While training for a marathon a few years back, Santosh hurt her back. She knew the gym offered personal training so she reached out to see if there was anyone who could help her recover while staying active and strong. Santosh was immediately paired up with Steve Basdavanos, one of our trainers who specializes in recovery and strength building; she has been training with him ever since. “I love taking classes the gym offers, but working one-on-one with Steve is so special and it keeps me focused. I love the personalized corrections and learning something new every session.”
Santosh was chosen as 2022’s 4th quarter Member of the Quarter because of her consistency and unconditional love for the gym since day one. Since 2011, her entire family have become members. When asked one of her most prominent memories of the gym, she recalls a time early in her membership when she was fairly new to the area, “I got lost on my way home from a hike one evening and started to freak out. I called the gym and Sharon came to pick me up right away.” Santosh has since referred to RCSC as the “one-stop gym” and says she always looks forward to working out so she can see her “second family.”
