Member Of The Quarter: Marsha Raskin

In Blog, Member of the Quarter

Rock Creek Sports Club is pleased to honor Marsha Raskin as our Member of the Quarter for the third quarter of 2010. Our management team selected Marsha because of her commitment to improving her health, her participation in all the club has to offer, and the friends and neighbors she has referred over the years.

Marsha has been a member since January 3, 2007, joining the new year’s resolution crowd. But unlike the typical new year’s member, Marsha made a true commitment to better her life. That January, Marsha walked into the gym with a cane, having difficulty breathing and feeling uncomfortable on a daily basis.

Marsha began working out five days a week, three of those days with a trainer. Over the years her workouts have become more intense and varied with the guidance of her trainers, Steve Basdavanos and Devin Knox. On any given day one can find this grandmother of three pumping iron, hitting the heavy bag, stepping through the agility ladder or holding a plank for an entire minute. Baby, you have come a long way!

Marsha has been very happy with her results. Not only does she feel better but she is now off of high blood pressure medication, no longer uses a cane and has lowered all of her bloodwork stats. Marsha’s workouts and her trainers have helped her recover from back surgery and have given her the energy she needs as a para-educator at Rosemary Hills Elementary School.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank Marsha for her positive attitude, her can-do spirit and her loyalty to Rock Creek Sports Club. Join us in congratulating her for the achievements she has made in bettering her health.
