Marian Lally, the Programming and Pilates Director at Rock Creek Sports Club, has more than 25 years of experience in the industry. The latest part of her fitness journey includes obtaining a comprehensive Pilates certification (Reformer/Tower/Chair/Barrel/Mat) with Balanced Body and becoming a NCPT (Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher, formerly the PMA or Pilates Method Alliance). A former dancer, Marian traded in her dance shoes for a pair of sneakers in 1992 to become a certified Group Fitness Instructor and later a Personal Trainer through the American Council of Exercise (ACE). Additionally, Marian is a Continuing Education provider for Balanced Athlete. Pilates and BA are natural extensions of Marian’s philosophy of functional fitness, and both are invaluable for injury recovery, sports performance, good posture and optimal health. Teaching clients how they can be active for a lifetime, even through injuries, aches and pains, illness, or life’s setbacks is a rewarding part of Marian’s client relationship.
Marian also has a confession. She is a former sugar and bread junkie! Making changes to a diet that reduces inflammation and cures disease has increased her quality of life. “If I can refrain from processed foods and sugar, and get only about 15% of my diet from animal products, anybody can.”
